Vous Serez Invincible

This is a place where I post pretty things, funny things, thoughtful things, or just things. Mostly just things. As opposed to unjust things. Clearly...
Me: Scientist. Ginger. Tall. Francophile. Migratory Californian. Wannabe physician. Lover of laughter. Lover of arts. Pseudo-photographer. Friendly by nature.

Dearest Cecilia, the story can resume. The one I had been planning on that evening walk. I can become again the man who once crossed the surrey park at dusk, in my best suit, swaggering on the promise of life. The man who, with the clarity of passion, made love to you in the library. The story can resume. I will return. Find you, love you, marry you and live without shame.

“I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”

Reasons to Love Wellesley

Living above the living room in Caz means that I get to hear someone’s beautiful rendition of pieces from Amelie on the piano almost every weekend.

I don’t.
I can’t.
This is.
But.
I love him.
Dear God.
I’m falling to pieces laughing.
Seriously, though, is there anything this man does that doesn’t make me want to kiss him for just being so wonderful?
Ok, I’m starting to sound like a creeper… I promise I’m not.

“I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I’m in love with you.”

John Green, The Fault in Our Stars (via bookmania)

It’s as though he peered into my soul and stole my deepest, purest thoughts. How dare he. And thank God that he found a way to articulate them.

DarcySo this is your opinion of me. Thank you for explaining so fully. Perhaps these offences might have been overlooked had not your pride been hurt by my honesty—

LizzieMy pride?

Darcy: —in admitting scruples about our relationship. Could you expect me to rejoice in the inferiority of your circumstances?

LizzieAnd those are the words of a gentleman. From the first moment I met you, your arrogance and conceit, your selfish disdain for the feelings of others made me realize that you were the last man in the world I could ever be prevailed upon to marry.

*Achingly long moment of pure, unadulterated, early 19th century sexual tension*

DarcyForgive me, madam, for taking up so much of your time.

“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.”
